In 1822 built in the stone mansion belonging to Counts Zubovs, where poet Zigmas Gaidamavičius-Gėlė (1894–1912) was born and grew up, in 1984 Šiauliai District Literary Museum was established (it started operating in 1987). It collects and stores material related to Šiauliai region writers, poets, literary experts, linguists, historians, booksellers, various regional information. The museum is equipped with the Zigmos Flower Room, two exhibition halls, a Poetry Room, and a collection of medals dedicated to writers is on display. Since 1977 In Naisiai, the Z. Gėlė prize is awarded for the best first poetry book of the year (the 40th prize awarded in 2016). Excursions, educational activities and literary events take place here.
