Chapel of the Hill of Crosses, also named as the Pope‘s Chapel is a chapel at the Hill of Crosses, in Jurgaičiai village, Šiauliai district. It was built in 1993, while waiting for the arrival of Pope John Paul II. The Chapel of the Hill of Crosses is an object of cultural heritage included into the Registry of Objects of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Lithuania in 2011 (unique number 36136). It is common in the world that a place of the Pope‘s prayer is dismantled afterwards; therefore, the Chapel of the Hill of Crosses is most likely a single station of the Pope‘s prayer where the temporary construction has been preserved and even became the object of cultural heritage.
